Also, questions 1 and 2 should be in the differential equations section of the forum. Question 2. A particular solution: $x = t^2 - 4t + 6$ (not satisfying the initial conditions). General solution $x = (At + B)e^{-t} + t^2 - 4t + 6$. Hence the solution satisfying the initial conditions is $x = -(t + 6)e^{-t} + t^2 - 4t + 6$.
