 May 7th, 2014, 08:47 AM #2 Senior Member     Joined: Apr 2014 From: Greater London, England, UK Posts: 320 Thanks: 155 Math Focus: Abstract algebra Split the function into two parts. $$f(x)\ =\ \begin{cases} 2x\ &\ x > 0 \\\\ -2x\ &\ x < 0 \end{cases}$$ So $f'(x)$ will be in two parts depending on whether $x$ is positive or negative.
