This is a homework que...i dont know where to post.. if f(x)=2x,x not equal to zero, then d/dx (f(x)) = ?

Split the function into two parts. $$f(x)\ =\ \begin{cases} 2x\ &\ x > 0 \\\\ 2x\ &\ x < 0 \end{cases}$$ So $f'(x)$ will be in two parts depending on whether $x$ is positive or negative.
