I need help setting up an equation which i believe will be calculus, but it could possibly be a system of equations as well, maybe after explaining i can figure this out. The equation is for a video game, my friend asked me about it seeing as i have an associates in mathematics, but im kind of stumped on how to do it. My friends character has a 50% chance to critically strike, he makes 5 attacks per second, he additionally has a 30% chance to on critical strike to cause a bleed for 3 seconds, and a 60% chance on critical strike to cause a bleed for 5 seconds. There is an additional variable called condition duration that affects bleed length as (1 +Cd) * Bl, where Cd is condition duration as a decimal from percentage and Bl is the original bleed length. Bleeds "stack" on a single target up to 25 times, aka in the case of my friend you can have 25 separate bleeds going at once, each which 46 second timers( when Cd =0). My friend is wondering the amount of Cd needed in order to reach 25 "stacks" of bleeds going at one time. The big thing stumping me is time, im thinking that either you need to set up the equation and have time approach infinity, or that perhaps time would cancel itself out on both sides of the equation. Im also thinking both of the bleeds can be averaged into 45% chance to bleed for 5s without affecting the outcome, but thats all i got at the moment.
