Function :- Domain Range Problem

Let f: D --> R be defined as f(x) = (x^2 + 2x + a)/ (x^2 + 4x + 3a) , where D and R denote domain of f and set of all real nos. respectively . If f is surjective mapping then the range of a is ?

As the range of a doesn't include 0 or 1, I suspect it is (0, 1).
