 December 27th, 2012, 11:51 AM #1 Newbie   Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 Divergence of tensor expression What would be the result of taking $\nabla\cdot \underline{\tau}$ where $\underline{\tau}=\nabla\textbf{v}+[\nabla\textbf{v}]^{t}-\frac{2}{3}\nabla\cdot\textbf{v}\underline{\textrm {I}}$ and $\textbf{v}$ is a vector field, $t$ stands for transpose and $\underline{\textrm{I}}$ is the identity matrix.
