My Math Forum minimum of function with 2 variables

 October 18th, 2012, 02:57 AM #1 Newbie   Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 minimum of function with 2 variables It's been many years since I last went to school and I'm faced with a buisiness problem which I would have solved in high school I guess... I've got a function with two variables and wish to know the minimum of Z for x and y: Z(xy)=22.5x+40y Also a small explanation if possible, so I can make the calcultations myself again. Many thanks in advance.

The function as given can be made to take on any value we choose.
