It's been many years since I last went to school and I'm faced with a buisiness problem which I would have solved in high school I guess... I've got a function with two variables and wish to know the minimum of Z for x and y: Z(xy)=22.5x+40y Also a small explanation if possible, so I can make the calcultations myself again. Many thanks in advance.

If there are no constraints given, then the function has no extrema. The function as given can be made to take on any value we choose.
