Do you know what $\displaystyle \int 1 dx$ is? What about $\displaystyle \int 1 dx$? Do you know what x+ 1 means? If you do, you should see that $\displaystyle \frac{x+1}{x+ 1}$ is a very simple function!

It's even simpler when you see that x+1 > 0 for x > 1.
