Re: Combinatoric!!!

Hey eChung00.

Can you use a computer? For this problem, a computer will give an answer really quickly.

Re: Combinatoric!!!

For (C)

Assume - X1 = K1+5 and X2 = K2+5 where K1,K2 >= 0, similarly X3 = K3+7, X4 = K4 +7; K3,K4 >=0.

Now the initial equation can be re-written as (K1+5)+(K2+5)+(K3+7)+(K4+7)=32 which implies K1+K2+K3+K4 = 8 and all K >=0 ----- This is the Problem mentioned in (A). The number of integer solutions would be = (8+4-1) C (4) = Factorial (11) / (Factorial(11-4) x Factorial 4) = 330.

Same is the logic for rest of the things as well...

Cheers
