Mathematics Ends in Meaninglessness ie self-contradiction

This author claims to show Mathematics Ends in Meaninglessness ie self-contradiction
for 4 reasons

http://www.scribd.com/doc/40697621/Math ... tradiction
1 1=.99[bar]
2 1+1=1
3 axiom of separation is impredicative
4 formal mathematics ends in meaninglessness

Re: Mathematics Ends in Meaninglessness ie self-contradictio

HHHHHHHHAH!

Obviously, this "essay" is total b.s. (and I'm not referring to all the letters after that guy's name...)

.999999999999999 is NOT an infinite number. You can think of it as a convergent (bounded) series. Sure, the number of TERMS is infinite, but the value is not.

Also, using the "definition" of infinity at "mathisfun.com" is bogus. Why not use my definition?
"An infinite number is a number that equals 1, if you write it in a crazy way."

1 + 1 = 1 ??
The only contradiction lies in the idiot who decided to use the same character/notation (i.e. "1") to represent 3 different things. Call the first pile of salt A, the second B, and the third C
A + B = C. Life-changing?

Wait... I'm starting to think this is just a publicity stunt for the "leading erotic poet"... Well, YOU GOT ME!

We honor the half hour that it took to create that image when we speak truth.

Re: Mathematics Ends in Meaninglessness ie self-contradictio

fact is
when maths says a finite number ie 1 = an infinte number .99[bar]
it is a contradiction in terms
thus maths ends in meaninglessness
