Need Help Solving This Question.

Satix is at a flea market. She wants to get the most knives at the lowest price. But she also wants to get at least one of each. The prices of the knives are: $ 4.30, $12.80, $11.50, $7.30, $ 7.50. If she has $50 to spend how much will her change be?

Answer:
a. $.70
b. $1.10
c. $2.20
d. $4.50
e. $5.00

I thought the the approach to this would be

12.80
11.50
7.50
7.30
4.30 one of each added all together
=
43.40
4.30 most for cheapest price
47.70

50.00 to spend
47.70
=
2.30 which is not an option.

Maybe I am reading it wrong but how did they get .70 for answer other than the .70 in 47.70? Could the answers be wrong?

Appreciate the help

Re: Need Help Solving This Question.

Is that the exact question? If so, as far as I understand it, you have the correct answer and my guess is that c) is supposed to be 2.30 rather than 2.20.

Re: Need Help Solving This Question.

yes, exact question and for the answer it was .70 cents I'm guessing they made a mistake with how the typed the question out. Thanks for the reply.
