Area of a Sector of a Circle

From my textbook:

$\frac{\theta}{\theta_1}=\frac{A}{A_1}$ (This I understand)

Suppose that $\theta_1= 2\pi$

Then $A_1$= area of the circle = $\pi r^2$ (I don't understand this. How is the area of a sector the same as the area of the circle?)

The area of the circle is the area of the sector whose angle is "the whole way 'round". :wink:

Well that makes sense. I was looking at a picture in the text next to the example; the picture that had, so far, gone with the example. It showed a circle with about a 20 degree angle and I thought they were referring to that illustration.
