Area of a Sector of a Circle

From my textbook:

$\frac{\theta}{\theta_1}=\frac{A}{A_1}$ (This I understand)

Suppose that $\theta_1= 2\pi$

Then $A_1$= area of the circle = $\pi r^2$ (I don't understand this. How is the area of a sector the same as the area of the circle?)

The area of the circle is the area of the sector whose angle is "the whole way 'round".

Well that makes sense. I was looking at a picture in the text next to the example; the picture that had, so far, gone with the example. It showed a circle with about a 20 degree angle and I thought they were referring to that illustration.

Thanks for putting up with my "denseness"
