A little confused

ok it is obvious when u have x^2= 16 you just take the square root.

However i have encounter this in one of my problems-----t^.2=.763

thinking logically I should just raise .763 to the reciprocal of .2....right?????

so is the answer .2601

please clarify if I am wrong and could someone verify my thinking.

Your method is right, but the result is 0.258596528100043 (or 0.2586 approximately), not .2601.
