My Math Forum Stumped on a function

 August 29th, 2014, 11:07 AM #1 Newbie   Joined: Aug 2014 From: California Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 Stumped on a function Here is the problem that has me stumped today. Find an equation of the line having the given slope and containing the given point. Express your answer in the form y=mx+b m=0, (0, -8 ) I came up with y=x+8 I used the formula y-y1=m(x-x1) the 1's are subscript sorry unsure how to input that.
