Stumped on a function

Here is the problem that has me stumped today.

Find an equation of the line having the given slope and containing the given point. Express your answer in the form y=mx+b

m=0, (0, -8 )

I came up with y=x+8

I used the formula

y-y1=m(x-x1) the 1's are subscript sorry unsure how to input that.

Math Focus: Mainly analysis and algebra
You are going to kick yourself when you write out the right hand side of that function ($y-y_1=m(x-x_1)$) with the correct values inserted.
