B) 9x^3 - 4x^2 + 4x + 96 = 0 has only one complex distinct root. C) All the roots of 9x^3 - 4x^2 + 4x + 96 = 0 are real. D) All the roots of 9x^3 - 4x^2 + 4x + 96 = 0 are complex. Q3 Log7(100)/Log7(10000) = A)1 b)0.5 C)0.25 D)0.125 Q4 If x+1/x = 2 then the value of x^4-1/x^4 is A)6 B)4 C)2 D)0 Q5 The set A={1,2,3,4} has the following relations in its R1= {(1,2),(2,3),(3,4),(4,1)} R2 = {(1,2),(3,4),(4,1)} R3 = {(1,1),(2,2),(3,3)} R4 = {(2,1),(4,4),(3,1),(2,3)} The only correct statement is A) R1 is a function B) R2 is a function C) R3 is a function D) R4 is a function March 3rd, 2014, 05:20 AM #2 Newbie   Joined: Dec 2013 Posts: 4 Thanks: 0 Re: Math Aptitude Questions Please give at least a brief solution. However, I'll provide a bit of help on each. Q1.  Evaluate -|2x-3| for various integer values of x. This should help you see which choice is right. Q2.  As you are told one factor, you can divide by that to find another. What do you get? Q3.  There are several laws of logarithms. Consider how they can help. Q4.  This is much easier than it appears at first glance. Q5.  Consider the formal meaning of a function in mathematics. Q5.  R2 (or R3) could be a function, but the question means a function on the set {1, 2, 3, 4},        not on some proper subset of {1, 2, 3, 4}. Tags aptitude, math, questions ,
