b/a = b + (2/a)

Whenever you want to isolate a variable like this, it's always a good idea to get all of the terms with that variable on one side of the equation. So your first step should be



Then you have two fractions with the same denominator, so you can combine them:



Now multiply by a to get rid of the fraction:



Finally, dividing both sides by b yields
