Is this supposed to be a simultaneous equation?

Is there another part to this question?

I don't think so, I know the answer is p=23 though, but don't how to get it out, that's why I need to see the steps..

p = 39.56/(0.002y - 0.1 - r)

Re: I need someone to show me the steps how to solve this

If ya want it to look "cute":
p = 39560 / (2y - 1000r - 100)
p = 19780 / (y - 500r - 50)
p = 19780 / [y - 50(10r + 1)]

Re: I need someone to show me the steps how to solve this

0.18=0.002(1000)-0.1-(39.56/p)
0.18=2-0.1-(39.56/p)
0.18=1.9-(39.56/p)
-1.72=-(39.56/p)
-1.72(1/(-39.56))=(1/p)
0.0434782609=(1/p)
1/0.0434782609=p

23=p

Actually, I think this way is more logically right.
