Is this supposed to be a simultaneous equation? Is there another part to this question?

I don't think so, I know the answer is p=23 though, but don't how to get it out, that's why I need to see the steps..

If ya want it to look "cute": p = 39560 / (2y  1000r  100) p = 19780 / (y  500r  50) p = 19780 / [y  50(10r + 1)]

0.18=0.002(1000)0.1(39.56/p) 0.18=20.1(39.56/p) 0.18=1.9(39.56/p) 1.72=(39.56/p) 1.72(1/(39.56))=(1/p) 0.0434782609=(1/p) 1/0.0434782609=p 23=p

Actually, I think this way is more logically right.
