Learning basic maths

Hi guys,

I want to improve my problem solving techniques in maths. First I need to know some basic maths in algebra, geomethry etc.
can anyone advise of any good articles books for beginners? with questions and answers.

I found when teaching that older texts were advantageous. Mind, I'm old enough to have used some of them as well. No pictures of happy children skipping rope, but LOTS of really great, well developed exercises following necessary and sufficient explanation. I'm referring to texts used in the late 1800s, early 1900, such as the Hall and Knight series published by McMillan. You might still find one in a used-book store. Another source of explanation an REALLY lots of exercises is the Shaum's Outline Series in just about any math /science subject area, from the simple to the complex.
