Making a t-chart to plot points

Hello

This is probably fairly simple to learn to do, i just don't know how (clearly, lol). I tried to do this problem and submitted it for my class and it was wrong. My teacher said I did not match the x values up with the y values right. So is there anyway someone could point me in the right direction with this?

Here is the equation:

2x + 3y ≥ 12

Like I have no idea what needs to be used for the x and y values. Seriously no clue. Help will be appreciated.

Try this:
\$\displaystyle 2x + 3y \geq 12\$

\$\displaystyle 3y \geq -2x + 12\$

\$\displaystyle y \geq -\dfrac{2}{3} x + 4\$

So plug in some x values:
x = 3 gives y = 2
x = -3 gives y = 5
x = 6 gives y = 0
etc.
(You can provide things like x = 1 by yourself. The only difference is that y is also a fraction. But you can get a graph using these three points and it is easier to calculate with x being a multiple of 3.)

Graph the equation \$\displaystyle y = -\dfrac{2}{3} x + 4\$. Any points on or above this line is your solution.

Addendum: Whole numbers are {1, 2, 3, 4...}, integers are {...-2, -1, 0, 1, 2, ...}, rational numbers are (in no particular order) {-2/3, 1, 6/3, ...}, and real numbers are everything else you've been taught {0, 1, 3.236, -8.09487593476, 3/4, ...}
