Let u = x + 1. Then x = u - 1. So
g(x + 1) = 2x + 3

g(u) = 2(u - 1) + 3

g(u) = 2u - 2 + 3

g(u) = 2u + 1

Now for the cheat code.... The variable in the equation can be any variable we like. So let it be "x"

g(x) = 2x + 1
