You have to know that $\displaystyle e \approx 2.71828$. Then plug $\displaystyle 500 ~ e^{-2.5}$ into the calculator. If you are using a scientific calculator you can plug in 500 (times) exp (-2.5) -Dan Addendum: Maschke for psychic of the year for figuring out the formula the OP meant by that.
