Question Quadratics


In the figure, if area of triangle ABC is 6cm^2, Find k.

As the distance between the point A(-4, 0) and the point B(-1,0) is 3 cm, the corresponding height of the triangle is 4 cm, and so C is the point (0, 4), which implies that k = 1.
