At a concession stand, 100 bottles of water and pretzels were sold for a total of \$250. If one bottle of water costs \$1.50 and one bottle of pretzel costs \$3.50, how many of each were sold? Thanks! Last edited by skipjack; December 11th, 2017 at 03:04 PM.

What have you done so far? It is hard to help you find what is wrong with your work if you do not show it.

It's rather obviously 50 bottles of each. To use a system of equations, I suggest w + p = 100, with a second equation that incorporates the prices.
