Science Project Please Help!

I am doing a science project on math, specifically quadratics. For my project, I am required to interview an expert in mathematics and wanted to see if I could ask an expert here on these forums these questions. Any help at all is greatly appreciated. If you have time, the questions are the following:

1. Why is abstract math important to learn?
2. Other than the throwing of objects and analytics, where else can I use knowledge of quadratic functions/parabolas?
3. Do you know of any simpler formulas or short cuts related to solving quadratics or parabola questions?
4. What are some teaching techniques you use to teach quadratics?
5. Do you think that learning pure math is more efficient than applied math?
6. What are some real world applications of calculus?
7. How are quadratic functions related to analytics?
8. How can I use a formula to express the curve/parabola a ball makes when thrown?
9. Please explain how engineers use calculus. Is the application of calculus only for engineering and its branches?
10. Are there other applications for quadratics than parabolas? If so, what are they?
11. My project is about finding the quadratic equations in the real world. How should I look for these hidden quadratic equations?
12. How has quadratics changed since its conception?
13. How has calculus changed since its conception?
14. What are some inventions or discoveries made possible by using quadratics or calculus?
15. What are some sciences, other than engineering, that require knowledge of quadratics?
16. How do we use inequalities in the real world?
17. Who do you think has contributed the most in the world of math?
18. If you could change the way students learned about math, how would you change it?
19. Do you believe there will be more concepts invented in the world of math?
20. Do you have any more suggestions for my science project?

Answering any amount of questions from this list (preferably all) would be greatly appreciated.

I would insist that exercises include unit of measure
