Few basic math questions ?

I am a bit confused about the terms like factor, factoring , factorize , factorization .

Are all those the same things?

Because I was trying to learn this.

Rational expressions, equations, and functions

Quote:
Rational expressions are like fractions, but instead of integers in the numerator and the denominator, you have variable expressions! Learn how to work with such expressions. Namely, simplify, add, subtract, multiply, and divide them (much like fractions!). Then, solve some equations with rational expressions in them, and analyze the behavior of rational functions
Removal by factoring

You accomplish the removal process by factoring the polynomials in the numerator and denominator of the rational function and then reducing the fraction

Quote:
By factoring denominators to the form (x-a)(x-b)(x-c). If both denominators contain (x-a), then the LCD has (x-a) only once
Quote:
It is not always the case that the LCD is the product of the given denominators. Typically, the denominators are not relatively prime; thus determining the LCD requires some thought. Begin by factoring all denominators. The LCD is the product of all factors, with the highest power

This is the process of factorization. You might be found factoring an expression. Factorize - To represent a number, matrix or polynomial as a product of factors. Thanks from awholenumber
