How would you read this?

Determine the average rate of change of the following functions over the specified intervals simplify all answers fully

Number H is one that is confusing me as would I take the negative through the whole function of x first and then to the -3 as well? so it would end up
(3 )^2+9-9

You are still not dealing with function notation correctly.
