At a glance, I thought you changed the digit into binary form positions but that makes no sense. It becomes h-e-jj-m ! So, I don't think I can break these.

The former one is also simple. Need a hint ? Get a mobile with number keypad 1,2,3.... or think of it in your mind.

You got a mobile with 1,2,3.. keypad? Then look at the alphabets on each number and then look at the code I think now you know how to do it. And skipjack, I am sorry it was $g$ instead of $j$.
