The problem deals with (a - 8 )(a - 2) not (x - 8 )(x - 2). My suspicion is that the OP did a "mental typo" and took the a^2 to be an 8^2. But yes, that particular mistake should have been found the second or third proofreading pass.

Yep that's Exactly what i did and then with the issues I have with the video that was teaching me the wrong out come, I was not realizing there was also an issue at the beginning of my problem that I made as well as with the video.
