x + 3^x < 4 I tried logarithms but couldn't get a solution. Could anyone show me their method? Last edited by skipjack; January 23rd, 2016 at 09:19 AM.

$x+3^x$ is strictly increasing, so $x+3^x<4$ when $x<1$.
