Isolate variable with variable exponent

Hello everyone,

I have the following formula:
y = x + (1 + x) ^ -z

How can I isolate the x variable in this equation?

Thanks,

You can't do this except for certain values of z (such as z = -1).

Re: Isolate variable with variable exponent

HI skipjack,

I was in doubt if it was impossible or if I lacked the math skills for that.

Thanks for the reply.
