 September 1st, 2012, 05:48 AM #1 Member   Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 32 Thanks: 1 Rectangles and Squares Four Squares are drawn on the four sides of a rectangle whose length is 4cm and breadth is 3 cm.What is the total area of the four squares and the rectangle? i got 3*3+4*4+3*3+4*4+2(3+4) but answer is 140cm^2
 September 1st, 2012, 06:30 AM #2 Member   Joined: May 2012 Posts: 78 Thanks: 0 Re: Rectangles and Squares The area of the rectangle is 3*4, not 2(3+4) - this is its perimeter. As it seems, the right answer is 62cm^2, not 140cm^2.
