quick question

2* = 4√8

what is the value of x? [The * is x]

2x= 4√8
divide both sides by 2:
2x/2=4(√/2
x=2√8

If you want a rational approximation,
it's:
x=2√(4*2)
=4√2
~5.65...

I suspect Kiranpreet meant

* x
2 * =* 4√8, which is 2^(2 + 3/2).

Hence x = 3 1/2.
