vector product of a vector and a scalar?

Hello is it possible to do a vector product like below, if $b$ is a scalar?

$\vec{a} \times b$

Is this same as a scalar product like the one below?

$\vec{a} \cdot b$

Re: vector product of a vector and a scalar?

If b is a scalar, neither cross product or dot product applies. All you can do is multiply each coordinate of the vector by b.
