Math notations!? CONCEIVABLE

Since there is an obvious redundancy of notations for same things in mathematics (take as an example), we often face the dilemma while composing mathematical formulae (which notation to use? which notation is going to be more practical?).

Also, I find it difficult to get accustomed to each written book author's preferences for some particular notations. Authors often don't bother avoiding ambiguity while using frequently occurring expressions (like just X), making it difficult to comprehend the meaning of whole chapters.

I propose the idea: What if there existed some kind of standards defined by means of a mere online polling which authors could follow. I believe that eventually this will lead to unambiguous, internationally adopted, precise and utilitarian notations in science (mathematics, in particular).

I want to know your opinion on this issue and on my idea. Also, I ask you to check this link out ... derivative) (commercial-free, Google-based) and to express your thoughts concerning this home-made draft of future mega-poll.

I suggest unification of notations promote the scientific advances that nowadays rely on international collaboration.
My e-mail:

Futhermore, very knowledgeable persons can post comments there. My first comment on the random sample page (which is under construction) would be: Let's adopt (x_1,...,x_n) as a standard designation for the random sample. I STRONGLY SUGGEST IT WILL MAKE THE WHOLE STATISTICS EASIER TO COMPREHEND FOR THOSE WHO TOOK PROBABILITY THEORY COURSE! FOR ME THIS KIND OF INSIGHT WAS A REAL BREAKTHROUGH, it HELPED ME ADVANCE!

What I mean is that notation is one of the most important thing in mathematics. One may disagree but I hope he will change his mind after the great succes of my project. To help this project succed I need a great and diverse following. Please ask me here, or via e-mail, if you have any question (I hope you have).

Re: Math notations!? CONCEIVABLE

Please take my idea seriously. I'm opened for discussion.

I'm an undergraduate student. Sometimes I teach some classes sometimes -- i.e. I understand what matters while studying stuff.

You might think it's very pedantic of me to care about notations, but believe me proper designation is considered to be of great importance by those who aren't as advanced as you
