Find ratio of 2 equations

If the ratio of x + 2y to 5y - x is 3 to 5. What is the ratio of x to y?

(x + 2y) / (5y - x) = 3/5
Now cross-multiply...

(x + 2y)/(5y - x) = 3/5 ? 5(x + 2y) = 3(5y - x) ? 8x = 5y ? x : y = 5 : 8.
