If payments were made at the rate of$1,000 per second, how many years would it take to pay off the debt, assuming that no interest were charged? (Note: 1 year = 3.156*10^7 seconds) I got 221.8 years, but the answer key says 100 years... Don't see how I'm wrong though.

We can find the time t in years from: $t=\frac{7\times10^{12}\text{ dollars}}{1\times10^3\text{ \frac{dollars}{second}}}\cdot\frac{1\text{ year}}{3.156\times10^7\text{seconds}}\approx221.8\ text{ years}$ I'd say you are correct!
