Math Focus: Everything (a little bit)
Bring 1 to LHS

Multiply numerator and denominator by x+1
Hint - now u can take the denominator to RHS (denominator becomes??)

Math Focus: Elementary mathematics and beyond
$\displaystyle \dfrac{2x-8}{x+1}\le1\Rightarrow\dfrac{x-9}{x+1}\le0\implies x\in(-1,9]$
