 December 6th, 2010, 09:44 AM #1 Member     Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 97 Thanks: 1 Log Equation Hello everyone, I need a little help solving the following equation: log[2]8 -log[2]x=2 I am not sure if I did this correctly, but this is how I tried working through the equation.... log[2] 8/x = 2 2^2 = 8/x 4 = 8/x 4x = 8 x = 2

Another approach would be: $\log_28-\log_2x=2$ $\log_2\left(2^3\right)-\log_2x=2$ $3-\log_2x=2$ $1=\log_2x$ $x=2^1=2$
