Need help using quad formula to solve

Solve S=2t^2+kt for t. I am not thinking any more because my brain is fried.

You could also use 2t^2 + kt - S = 0 and apply the quadratic formula.

I went with the quadratic
I don't know how to make the math symbols on here so here goes:

t=-k+or-the sq rt of k^2+8S over 4?

In general, the quadratic formula for ax^2 + bx + c = 0 is

Wait. I got positive 8S. What did I do wrong. 4ac is -4(2)(-S)... yes?
