My previous post had quite a few views but no replies?!? Anyway, by re-invigorating the problem maybe I can get a result! So, here is the problem: I am using Right Isosceles Triangles, I only want to rotate them by 90 degrees and by doing this I want to know the total number of possible shapes, with at least 1 side of each triangle touching. Below is an example of the type of triangle, the method of rotation and a visual of what I mean by the "shape" (created with at least 1 side of each triangle touching). I have illustrated "shapes" created using 2 triangles; however, I would like a rule to give a total number of possible shapes when using, 2, 3, 4...up to 10 triangles if possible! Any questions or problems with my explanation, please reply and I'll be happy to settle any confusion. NOTE: Remember, at least 1 side of each triangle must be touching another & rotation is only at 90 degrees. Thanks!
