Hi all I face a problem in distinguish between permutations or Combination For example : Q 1 : From a committee of 10 person, in how many ways can we choose a chair and a vice chair and a secretary, assuming one person cannot hold more than one position? Q 2 : In how many ways a committee of 5 members can be selected from 6 men and 5 women consisting of 3 men and 2 women? here in like this questions how I can know the question for permutations or Combination? please I want your help.

When dealing with permutations and combinations, both of them choose (without repetition) from a group but for one of them order is important and for the other order is not important. For Q1: order is important For Q2: order is not important but be sure to take gender into account. Chuck
