Median Question

I all, I'm sure I'm being stubid but i need some clarification.

The following tables show the scores of two groups of students in a test question.
i) Mark 0 1 2 3 4
Frequency 10 5 8 x 3
Determine the value of x if the median of these marks is 1.5

I have a formula for the median when it's odd or even and they don't seem to work

n is odd: x= ( xn + x(n+1) )/ 2

Thanks

median means there are the same number above and below. In your table there are 15 scores below 1.5 and 11 + x above 1.5. I'm sure you can figure out what x is.

Re: Median Question

ok, so x= 4. It's just odd that I haven't been tought how to logically think when working through these questions.

Thanks a lot!!!!
