How Many Positions Can A Rubik's Cube Be In?

This may not have to do with probability and statistics, but it does have to do with combinations. How many positions can a Rubik's Cube be in? Rotating the entire cube without changing one part relative to another part (like rolling a die) does not count as changing a position.

Hey Evans3.

You should consider the difference between how many possible positions that can exist as well as how many different positions that can be obtained from doing one movement or turn of the cube.

In terms of absolute positions, you need to arrange the combinations of all colours in all ways and this can be done using combinatorics.
