Need help to solve this...


If team A had wo 67% of their games, and Team B had won 54% of their games then what is the probability for team B to win against Team A? How do i calculate this one. Please help.

What's the source of the question? I don't know if it's possible to answer. If the teams were not playing each other, it would be simple to multiply to calculate the four probabilities (A wins, B wins, both win, or neither wins), but that isn't the case. I'm assuming this isn't mathematically valid, but if the events are treated independently (like A and B were not playing each other), then the probability of B winning and A losing is 0.1782 and the probability of A winning and B losing is 0.3082. Taking the first probability and dividing by the sum yields 0.3663651316, but I'm not saying that's the answer.
