Hi All, I've got an urgent question that needs help please. Because of the time limit I can't afford to go back to the text books. Below is a simplified version: if there're 10 incidences on a total length of 10km road. What's the chance of any 1km section of having an incidence? I think this is equivalent to the following: if there're 10 balls to be randomly dropped to 10 boxes. What's the chance of each box getting a ball. Thanks soooo much for your help Richard

The question itself is not clear? Are you looking at one section and asking, or are you asking about all sections? Also are you asking for exactly one instance or one or more?
