My Math Forum Need help with 2 stats problems

 March 8th, 2013, 10:25 AM #1 Newbie   Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 Need help with 2 stats problems Given the independent variable with mean ?_x = 120 and ?_y = 300 and standard deviations ?_x = 12, ?_y = 16. What is the mean and standard of each variable? a) 0.8y+20 b)2x-100 c)x+2y Please explain how you did this and show steps so that I can understand how it was done. #2. Lets say 13% of people are left handed. If we randomly test 5 persons, find the probability of these: a) some lefties among 5 people b) there are exactly three left handed people in the team c) there are at least three left handed people in the team d)there are less than 3 lefties in the team Again, please explain how you did this thanks!
