How do u write out a 3 × 2 matrix?

$\begin{pmatrix}

a_{1,1} &a_{1,2} \\

a_{2,1} &a_{2,2} \\

a_{3,1} &a_{3,2}

\end{pmatrix}$

reply while quoting to see the LaTex code

this is just one way of doing this.

you can use \matrix for no parens, or \bmatrix for brackets

The \array command gives you more flexibility if you want it with regard to justification within a column.
