I am an engineering student. I am doing M.TECH and I have a paper "Advanced Computer Networks". Now, to study this subject, I need to understand probability and distribution. I've completed Bernoulli, Binomial, Geometric, Poisson, Normal, and Exponential distributions so far, but having difficulty understanding power law distribution. Here is the part of the book which is recommended in my college https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1I...NXWXA0Uk0/view I couldn't understand the logic behind it, besides no example has been given to elaborate the idea further. so, I'll be grateful if someone can help me understand the logic, at least as much it is explained in the above pdf. Thank you.... Last edited by skipjack; May 5th, 2017 at 01:10 AM.

Bernoulli, Binomial, Geometric, Poisson, Normal, and Exponential distributions are so easy if compared to this Power Law distribution. Hope someone can explain for it.

I've collected various notes about this topic but not much helpful.
