Help! Rusty in math and starting Statistics

Hi. I'm trying to finish my transfer degree to a state college and in order to do that I need to either take Elementary Statistics and Probability or Finite Math. I chose Stats.
It's been some time since I've taken a math class, and my last class was Intermediate Algebra. I've heard that both classes I can choose from are extremely difficult but according to the prerequisites, only Intermediate Algebra is required before starting either. Now it's been years since I took Intermediate Algebra. Is there any hope I will succeed in the Statistics class? Is there any kind of prepping I can do in the mean time (two weeks) just to prepare myself? Would Finite Math have been the better choice?

Any responses are greatly appreciated, thanks.

edit: I just saw there is an Academic Guidance forum. Maybe this can get moved there?

Math Focus: Elementary mathematics and beyond
You may want to review Intermediate Algebra, using current course materials.

What kind of statistics course is it? What topics are you covering?

Answering those will help us better answer your question.
