For anyone who studies mathematics, how many hours do you put into studying math and what have you given up as an alternative to continually improving this skill?

10+ hours a week. When I was in college I'd put in at least double that, not counting classes. It's a hobby. If I didn't spend the time doing math I'd be collecting coins, playing basketball, or something else of that nature, I imagine.

Whenever I'm at work and have down time, I'm usually reading a math book. Before I go to bed, I try to read for about an hour. On the weekends, I really try to put in a lot of time because I feel like I'm so behind of where I should be. I'd say maybe about 16 hrs a week.

Now, I'm in school. So I'm in math class about 16 hours a week, I teach about 3 a week, and I need to put in at least 15 elsewhere.
